Manakamana Temple Day Tour - Overview
Perched on a ridge at about 1,300 m in Gorkha district, Manakamana Devi is believed to fulfil the wishes of her devotees. Since 1998 a cable car from Kurintar on the Trishuli river has replaced the long uphill walk, carrying pilgrims over forested hills in about 10 minutes with views of Manaslu and Annapurna on clear days.
The tour runs from Kathmandu or Pokhara and can also be added as a stop on the drive between the two cities.
Itinerary
Early departure along the Prithvi Highway to Kurintar (about 3.5 hours from Kathmandu or 3 hours from Pokhara). Ride the cable car up to the temple for darshan and puja, stroll the small bazaar, then ride down and return to your hotel.
