Chitwan National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Nepal’s southern lowlands, protects forests and grasslands that shelter the one-horned rhinoceros, Bengal tiger, gharial crocodile and more than 500 bird species. This short package gives you a taste of the jungle and Tharu culture in one night.
Itinerary
Arrive from Kathmandu or Pokhara by midday. After lunch, walk through a Tharu village and watch sunset over the Rapti river. Evening Tharu stick dance.

Early canoe ride looking for crocodiles and birds, a guided jungle walk and a visit to the elephant breeding centre. Afternoon bus back to Kathmandu or Pokhara. Jeep safari can be added.
