This tour adds a night on the rim of the Kathmandu Valley at Nagarkot (2,175 m), famous for sunrises that sweep from Dhaulagiri to Everest on clear days. On the way you explore Bhaktapur, the best-preserved medieval Newar city in Nepal, before heading west to the lakes of Pokhara.

Welcome to Nepal! Our representative meets you at Tribhuvan International Airport with a garland and drives you to your hotel. The rest of the day is free to settle in or stroll around Thamel.

A full guided day around the valley’s World Heritage Sites: Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple) with its sweeping city view, the palaces and temples of Kathmandu Durbar Square and the Kumari Ghar, the riverside Hindu shrine of Pashupatinath, and the giant white dome of Boudhanath Stupa where you can join pilgrims walking the kora at dusk.

Explore Bhaktapur Durbar Square, the five-storey Nyatapola temple and the potters’ square, then drive one hour up to Nagarkot for sunset over the Himalaya.

Wake early for sunrise over the Langtang, Ganesh and Everest ranges. After breakfast drive to Pokhara (7–8 hours) or transfer to the airport for a short flight.

Early drive to Sarangkot (1,600 m) for sunrise over Dhaulagiri, Annapurna and Machhapuchhre. After breakfast visit the World Peace Pagoda, Davis Falls, Gupteshwor Cave and the International Mountain Museum, then finish with a boat ride to the island temple of Tal Barahi on Phewa Lake.

FAQ's
On very clear mornings (mainly October–December) a small tip of Everest is visible far to the east, along with the much closer Langtang and Ganesh Himal ranges.
It is included in the package (currently NPR 1,800 for foreigners).
Evenings and mornings are cool year-round, and near freezing from December to February. Bring a warm layer.
