Chandragiri Hill & Swayambhunath Day Tour - Overview
The Chandragiri cable car climbs from Thankot on the valley floor to the ridge-top at 2,551 m, where clear days reveal a Himalayan panorama from Annapurna to Everest along with the whole Kathmandu Valley. At the top sits the Bhaleshwor Mahadev temple, plus viewpoints, cafes and a children’s play area.
On the way back we stop at Swayambhunath, the ancient hilltop stupa watched over by the Buddha’s eyes.
Itinerary
Morning pick-up and drive (about 1 hour) to the Chandragiri cable car station at Thankot. Ride to the top, visit Bhaleshwor Mahadev temple and the viewpoints, and have lunch with a view. Afternoon visit to Swayambhunath before returning to your hotel.
