Kathmandu 7 UNESCO World Heritage Sites Tour - Overview
The Kathmandu Valley holds seven UNESCO World Heritage monument zones within a few kilometres of each other – one of the densest concentrations of World Heritage anywhere. Seeing them all in one day leads to “temple fatigue”, so this tour spreads them across two relaxed days with an expert guide.
The seven sites
- Kathmandu Durbar Square – Hanuman Dhoka palace and the Kumari Ghar.
- Swayambhunath – the hilltop “Monkey Temple” stupa.
- Pashupatinath – Nepal’s holiest Shiva temple on the Bagmati.
- Boudhanath – one of the largest stupas in the world.
- Patan Durbar Square – Krishna Mandir and the Patan Museum.
- Bhaktapur Durbar Square – 55-Window Palace and Nyatapola temple.
- Changunarayan – the oldest temple in the valley, with 5th-century inscriptions.
