Champadevi Hiking

Overview

If you’re in Kathmandu and want a quick escape into nature without going too far, the Champadevi Day Hike is a perfect choice. In just one day, you can leave the busy city behind and find yourself walking through peaceful forests with wide valley and mountain views.

The hike starts with a short drive to Hattiban, located on the southern edge of the valley. From here, the trail climbs steadily through dense pine forests, offering fresh air, quiet surroundings, and a refreshing break from city life. The path is well-defined and not too technical, making it suitable for beginners as well as regular hikers.

The main highlight of the hike is reaching the summit of Champadevi Hill (2,278m), a sacred spot named after the goddess Champa Devi. From the top, you’ll get panoramic views of the Kathmandu Valley, including Taudaha Lake, along with distant Himalayan peaks on clear days.

After spending time at the summit, enjoying the views and a packed lunch, you’ll descend back through the same forest trail and return to Kathmandu by afternoon.

This hike is ideal for travelers who want a short, refreshing outdoor experience with a mix of nature, culture, and light adventure—all in a single day.

In simple terms: short hike, fresh air, great views, and back to your hotel before evening.
