5 Days Annapurna Base Camp Trek - Trip Overview
This is the quickest realistic route to Annapurna Base Camp (4,130 m). A jeep takes you from Pokhara deep into the Modi Khola valley, so the walking starts close to Chhomrong and you can be standing in the Annapurna Sanctuary on day three, surrounded by Annapurna I, Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Gangapurna and the fishtail summit of Machhapuchhre.
On the way out you soak tired legs in the riverside natural hot spring at Jhinu Danda before driving back to Pokhara.

Good to know: Days 2 and 4 are long (7–9 hours). You should be a regular hiker in good health.
Itinerary
A 3–4 hour jeep ride along the Modi Khola takes us to Jhinu Danda (1,780 m). From here we climb stone steps to Chhomrong with its first views of Annapurna South and continue to Sinuwa. 4–5 hours walking.

Through dense bamboo and rhododendron forest via Bamboo, Dovan and Himalaya Hotel, then past the Hinku Cave to Deurali. 6–7 hours.

The valley opens up as we climb to Machhapuchhre Base Camp (3,700 m) and then gently on to ABC, enclosed by a ring of 7,000 and 8,000 m peaks. Watch the sunset turn Annapurna gold. 5–6 hours.

After sunrise photos we retrace our steps all the way down the gorge to Sinuwa. 7–9 hours.

Descend to Jhinu Danda and walk 20 minutes down to the natural hot spring pools by the river. After lunch the jeep returns you to Pokhara. 4–5 hours walking, 3–4 hours drive.

FAQ's
ABC is 4,130 m, and you only sleep there one night before descending. Most fit trekkers acclimatise without problems, but we monitor everyone daily with an oximeter.
In Pokhara. We can arrange a tourist bus, private car or flight from Kathmandu on request.
Yes. The trip can be run guide-only; we will adjust the price accordingly.
In winter and early spring there can be snow above Deurali; avalanche-prone sections are monitored and your guide decides on safety.
October–November and March–May. Monsoon (June–August) is possible but leeches and clouds are common.
